BARBIE® A CULTURAL ICON
General guided tour of about 60′ of the exhibition
In March 2024 she will be 65 years old, but she doesn’t look it at all! Barbie, conceived in 1959 even then as an innovative toy, has become an ageless and timeless global icon in just over half a century. She has masterfully interpreted the evolution of society, representing its aesthetic and cultural transformations, while always remaining current and modern. She had the privilege of travelling to distant lands representing more than 50 different nationalities and soon became an ambassador for important social battles in favour of inclusivity and gender equality. The exhibition recounts the incredible life of this doll who went from being a childhood toy to a cultural and style icon.
